Charlotte, NC – Investigators with the Charlotte FBI Safe Streets Task Force need the public's help tracking down a man who robbed the Hamlet Federal Credit Union at 6101 Idlewild Road on August 27. Witnesses say the man came into the Credit Union just before lunchtime and pointed a gun at the teller. He demanded money from the drawer and forced the teller to get money from the vault. The robber was holding a cell phone to his ear the entire time he was in the Credit Union. Witnesses described him as a black man, about 30-years-old, 5’11” and around 230 pounds. They say he’s also bald and has a dark complexion. The Credit Union released surveillance photos of the suspect. The Safe Streets Task Force is made up of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Gastonia Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ### |
