BANK OF AMERICA ON PROSPERITY CHURCH ROAD IN CHARLOTTE ROBBED

Charlotte, NC - The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force needs the public's help in identifying and finding a man who robbed the Bank of America branch at 3021 Prosperity Church Road, Charlotte, North Carolina (NC).

On January 24, 2008, a lone black man entered the bank and threatened a teller with a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money. The teller describes the man as being about 5'2" to 5'3", medium build. He's described as having a full beard. Witnesses say he may have been wearing a hat.

No one was hurt during the robbery. Investigators from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) and the FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force responded to the robbery and are still investigating.

The Safe Streets Task Force is working to get surveillance video from the bank to assist in identifying the robber. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police will forward those images as soon as they are ready for release. Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to contact the FBI at (704) 377-9200.
