FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASESUSPECT FLEES SUNTRUST BANK IN CHARLOTTE WITHOUT OBTAINING ANY MONEYCharlotte, NC - The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating the individual who attempted to rob the SunTrust Bank located at 101 South Kings Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina (NC), but who fled the bank without obtaining any money. On November 16, 2007, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a lone male entered the bank, approached one of the bank tellers, and presented the teller with a bank robbery demand note. When the bank teller asked a question of the suspect, he turned around and walked out of the bank without any money. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area on foot. No weapon was observed or displayed during the robbery, and there were no injuries as a result of the robbery. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5'6" - 7" in height, slim to medium build, and late 20s in age. The suspect was also described as having crooked bottom teeth. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a navy-blue hooded sweatshirt and a black toboggan cap. Investigators from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force responded to the scene and are still investigating. No images suitable
for dissemination and identification of the suspect were obtained
from the bank's surveillance system, so the Safe Streets Task Force
is not releasing any images of today's suspect. Anyone with information
