SAFE STREETS TASK FORCE SEEKING THE PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING AN ARMED AND DANGEROUS FUGITIVE
Charlotte, NC – The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Charlotte man who is wanted on a local felony charge. On June 25, 2007, an order for arrest was issued in Mecklenburg County for David Lamar Caldwell, age 29, in connection with a charge of possession of a weapon of mass destruction. The charge concerns Caldwell’s alleged possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
Caldwell, who uses the aliases Dazz and Dazmond Larenzo Caldwell, is a black male who is approximately 5’10” in height and weights approximately 180 pounds. Caldwell’s last known address as of November 2006 was 1024 McQuay Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Caldwell has several distinctive tattoos that should make him easy to identify, including the name “DAZZ” tattooed on his right wrist, three tear drops tattooed on his face just below the corner of his right eye, and tattoos on the tops of his left and right hands, including a crown on the top of his right hand. Caldwell also has as a black mole in the center of his forehead just above his eyes.
To aid in the identification of Caldwell, the FBI Charlotte SSTF is releasing the attached photographs, including photographs of Caldwell’s tattoos and a retouched photograph of Caldwell with a shaved head.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of David Lamar Caldwell is requested to contact the FBI Charlotte SSTF at (704) 377-9200. Any information received will be kept strictly confidential. Given the nature of the charge for which Caldwell is being sought, he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The charge in connection with which Caldwell is being sought is only an allegation. Caldwell is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
