Charlotte, NC – On July 5, 2007, at approximately 1:08 p.m., the Truliant Federal Credit Union located at 9524 Monroe Road, Charlotte, North Carolina (NC), was robbed by a lone male armed with a handgun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled the area in a Honda automobile that was white in color and displayed a North Carolina license plate.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’6” to 5’9” in height, late 20’s to early 30’s in age, and weighing approximately 150 to 160 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was dressed in dark clothing.

Investigators from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the robbery and are still investigating.

This bank branch was the victim of an earlier robbery on June 18, 2007, and the individual responsible for that crime is still being sought. The suspect in the June 18 robbery was a lone male armed with a handgun who fled the area in a four-door sedan that was red in color and had tinted windows.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was dressed in black clothing, including a black, hooded sweatshirt. It is unknown at this time if there is any connection between the two bank robberies.

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is releasing the attached images from the bank’s surveillance system to help further identify the suspect in the July 5 robbery. Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to contact the FBI at (704) 377-9200.
