FBI SEEKING PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING A SERIAL BANK ROBBER
Charlotte, NC – Today at approximately 3:30 p.m., the SunTrust Bank located at 818 North Church Street, Concord, North Carolina (NC), was robbed by a lone male armed with a handgun. Upon entering the bank, the suspect vaulted the bank counter and took an undisclosed sum of money from the teller drawers. In addition to cash, the suspect took one or more dye packs; so the suspect, his clothing, and/or the bank robbery loot may be covered in red dye.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’10” in height, 30 years of age, and 200 pounds in weight. The suspect possibly fled the area in a gray or silver sedan.
Investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force has determined that this individual may also be responsible for two prior bank robberies: the October 24, 2006, robbery of the SunTrust Bank located at 3806 Highway 74 East, Wingate, NC, and the May 11, 2007, robbery of the SunTrust Bank located at 276 Concord Parkway South, Concord, NC.
Investigators from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Concord Police Department responded to today’s robbery and are still investigating.
The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is releasing the attached images from the bank’s surveillance system to help further identify the suspect. Also included is an image of the suspect as he exited the SunTrust Bank following the May 11, 2007, robbery.
