Charlotte, NC ---The SunTrust Bank located at 207 South Sharon Amity Road was robbed today at approximately 9:40 a.m. by a lone suspect who entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. Although a firearm was not observed, the demand note indicated that the suspect was armed. The suspect subsequently fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as a black male with a fake moustache, approximately 5' 6" - 7" in height, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and 30's in age. The suspect was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap that was dark blue on the front and white on the back. Investigators from the FBI's Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the robbery and are still investigating. The FBI's Safe Streets Task Force is comprised of agents, officers, and detectives form the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, the North Carolina Probation and Parole, and other law enforcement agencies. The FBI's Safe Street Task Force investigators are releasing the still images below from the bank surveillance tapes to help further identify the suspect.
