Charlotte, NC - On Thursday, May 17, 2007 at approximately 11:25 am, an unknown white male subject entered the Piedmont Bank located at 100 North Statesville Road, in Huntersville , North Carolina 28078. The subject presented a note at the teller counter and obtained an undetermined amount of currency. There was no weapon shown or implied. The subject turned and exited the bank and was last observed running northbound through the bank public vehicular area, and continued on foot through the strip mall public vehicular area. Due to heavy vehicular traffic it is unknown at this time if the subject got into a vehicle. The victim tellers described the subject as a white male, with a round face, five feet and ten inches tall, with a stocky build, with some facial hair. The subject was wearing sunglasses, a brownish green rounded brim Gilligan type hat, multi colored pattern shirt and gray pants. No age estimate was available from the victim teller. Investigators from the FBI's Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the robbery and are still investigating. The FBI's Safe Streets Task Force is comprised of Special Agents of the FBI, officers and detectives from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, Deputies of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, representatives from North Carolina State Probation and Parole, and other law enforcement agencies.
