SUSPECTED MULTI-STATE AND LOCAL SERIAL BANK ROBBER SOUGHT BY FBI

Charlotte, NC – An unknown suspect has been linked to at least 6 bank robberies in Charlotte, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.  The FBI in North Carolina, through its Safe Streets Task Force comprising of agents and officers from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, is requesting the public’s assistance.

The suspect is identified as a white male, mid-50’s, approximately 5’11”- 6’1”, and approximately 180 pounds.  He enters the bank under the auspice of legitimate bank business and presents robbery note to teller.  The suspect has been seen riding bicycles in the area of the banks prior to the robbery, but leaves on foot or bicycle.

The following robbery locations and dates have been linked to this suspect:  

  1. First Citizens Bank, 16800 Statesville Road, Huntersville, 2/15/2007

  2. Bank of America, 13805 Conlan Circle, Charlotte, 1/11/2007

  3. Chase Bank, 5340 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky, 1/23/2007

  4. First National Bank, 10514 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee, 1/19/2007

  5. PNC Bank, 12075 Lebanon Road, Sharonville, Ohio, 12/01/2006

  6. Huntington Bank, 6127 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus Ohio, 11/21/2006

 

FBI offices in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee, along with numerous law enforcement partners, are continuing the investigation.
