MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONY CHARGES

  Charlotte, NC –  Kevin B Kendrick, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in North Carolina here, along with the FBI Greensboro Resident Agency, Guilford County Sheriff’s Department, Greensboro Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, announced the arrest of RICHARD (CHIP) NORMAN WILLIAMS, on eight counts of statutory rape and traveling for the purpose of having a sexual relationship with a minor.

 WILLIAMS, regarding the eight counts, allegedly had a previous sexual relationship with a minor female form the Greensboro area.  In today’s arrest, WILLIAMS arranged to meet a minor female in Greensboro for the purpose of having a sexual relationship.  WILLIAMS was apprehended by the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office at the meeting location and now faces felony charges under North Carolina statutes.  North Carolina search warrants are currently being sought for the subject’s vehicle, residence and business in Mooresville, North Carolina. 

 WILLIAMS is currently in custody at the Guilford County jail in Greensboro.

 The FBI, along with other state and local law enforcement agencies, continue to investigate this matter.
