Charlotte, NC – A wanted bank robber from Georgia was captured here today.

Michael W. Davis, 50, was arrested at 5702 Clintwood Drive in Stanley in connection with the robbery of the SunTrust Bank, located at 801 Broad Street in Augusta, Georgia on November 17. Davis was wanted under a federal arrest warrant for the bank robbery.

“This is just a fantastic example of how the speed of information and a superb, coordinated law enforcement response can lead to the successful apprehension of the suspect,” said Nathan T. Gray, Special Agent-in-Charge of the FBI in North Carolina.

Davis will be held at the Mecklenburg County Jail until his initial appearance next week.
