FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SUSPECTED LOCAL SERIAL BANK ROBBER SOUGHT BY FBICharlotte, NC – An unknown suspect has been linked to at least 6 bank robberies in the Charlotte area and the FBI, through its Safe Streets Task Force comprising of agents and officers from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, is requesting the public’s assistance. The suspect is identified as a black or white male (often white make-up is used), mid-30’s, approximately 5’7”-5’8” and between 150-160 pounds. The suspect has repeatedly worn dark sunglasses, a fake, light-colored wig and beard, gloves and often a brimmed hat. Most notably is that the suspect has brandished a silver colored semi-automatic pistol during the robberies, and is considered to be armed and dangerous. Agents and officers suspect this could be a two person team (one white and one black male) as the suspect’s demeanor in the banks is not consistent, along with slightly different physical descriptions by witnesses.
