Numerous Criminal Defendants Sentenced to Federal Prison as Result of Law Enforcement Efforts

 


 

BRYSON CITY, NC - During two recent terms of U.S. District Court in Bryson City, North Carolina, a number of criminal defendants earlier indicted in U.S. District court were sentenced. United States Attorney Gretchen Shappert commends the excellent work of the Cherokee Indian Police Department and their federal law enforcement partners, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Park Service, for their work involved in investigating and bringing to successful prosecution these federal offenses which occurred in Indian Country. Assistant United States Attorney Don Gast of the Asheville U.S. Attorney’s Office handled the prosecutions for the government.
